A recap of where we've gathered, alongside early details for what's coming next across Aotearoa.
2026 National Gathering in Auckland
In June 2026, The Open Table NZ hosted our first-ever national gathering in Auckland, drawing 230 people from across Aotearoa into an open, progressive faith space where seeking genuine connection mattered far more than having all the answers.
Beyond the formal workshop sessions, the highlight was watching meaningful conversations unfold naturally in the foyer and around shared meals as people re-connected and built new friendships around the table.

Exploring Regional Gatherings
We know that travelling to Auckland is a significant commitment, and we want to help foster local, safe, and progressive faith spaces across Aotearoa. We are currently exploring the possibility of holding regional gatherings in:
- Wellington
- Christchurch
- Taranaki
Want to Help Build the Table?
To make Auckland 2027 and these regional gatherings a reality, we need local hands, hearts, and minds. If you want to see this community grow in your area and are interested in helping out, please get in touch and let us know:
- Your location: Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Taranaki, or elsewhere
- How you'd like to help: Event planning, hosting/hospitality, facilitation, tech/AV, music, admin, or general volunteering on the day
Even if you just want to express interest in helping shape what a local hub could look like in your region, we would love to hear from you.
Pass It On: Help Us Grow
Word of mouth is how the Open Table community grows. If you have friends, family, or colleagues who are navigating the edges of faith and would value a progressive, inclusive space for thoughtful conversation and honest doubt, please consider sharing this page with them.
